Bond’s Bachelor of Actuarial Science and Bachelor of Laws double degree takes just under four years.

The combination of actuarial science and law lays the groundwork for a future-focussed career in the world of big data and analytics. Not only will you have the skills to analyse the data, but you will also have an in-depth understanding of the legal context and guidelines in which these numbers can be used. You could end up being an actuary who specialises in the legalities of using personal information or a lawyer with expertise in risk evaluation.

The actuarial science element of the program covers economics, finance, statistics, data analytics and advanced mathematics, as they relate to the management of risk and business decision-making. You will learn how to crunch the big data numbers to create practical solutions for real-world problems. You will also have access to Bond’s FinTech Hub and can complete Bloomberg training as part of your program.

Your law degree covers all the compulsory subjects required to pathway for admission to legal practice in Australia, provide you with opportunities to gain a specialisation is an area of interest and enhance your skills in communication, advocacy and research gained through the Integrated Skills Program.

    Gold Coast New Student Grants (Second Phase)

    • Experience Gold Coast is offering International Students who satisfy the Eligibility Criteria set out in these Terms, the opportunity to be awarded the Gold Coast New Student Grants worth a total of AUD$1,000 (“Grant Amount”).  This document sets out the terms and conditions that apply to the Gold Coast New Student Grants.

    Available to Future Students enrolling at Experience Gold Coast Education Member Institutions (see ‘Eligibility Criteria’ below)
    Citizenship:  International Students (i.e., non-Australian and non-New Zealand citizens) 
    Grant value:  AUD $1,000
    Applications open: 6-Aug-25
    Applications close: 31 October 2025 (no late applications will be considered) 
    Quota:  100 Applicants who meet the Eligibility Criteria and successfully complete the Verification Process 

     

    Eligibility Criteria
     

    To be eligible to apply for the Gold Coast New Student Grants, an Applicant must:  

    • satisfactorily complete the application process outlined in these Terms (see ‘How to Apply’); 
    • be able to be classified as an International Student in Australia; 
    • commence enrolment as a new student in a course at an Experience Gold Coast Education Member Institution between 11 August 2025 and 31 March 2025; 
    • hold a valid student visa (subclass 500), and maintain the student visa for the duration of their enrolment at Experience Gold Coast Education Member Institution(s); 
    • maintain ongoing residency on the Gold Coast for the duration of the relevant course/studies at the Experience Gold Coast Education Member Institution; 
    • maintain enrolment at an Experience Gold Coast Education Member Institution for at least 24 academic weeks including packaged offers/multiple courses;  
    • submit all requested documentation to meet the conditions associated with the Gold Coast New Student Grants by the Verification Date; and  
    • have an account with an Australian bank under their own name to receive the Grant Amount.

     

    Ineligible Persons 
     

    Applicants will not be eligible to apply for the Gold Coast New Student Grants if they: 

    • have not completed the Gold Coast New Student Grants application process outlined in these Terms (see ‘How to Apply’) by the application Closing Date;  
    • have already applied for, and/or received, the Gold Coast New Student Grants; 
    • are International Students residing in Australia at the time of applying for the Gold Coast New Student Grants; 
    • are International Students currently enrolled with and who have commenced studies with an Australian tertiary or other educational institution (including an Experience Gold Coast Education Member Institution); 
    • are a domestic student; or   
    • are an employee of Experience Gold Coast. 

     

    Quota on Eligible Applicants
     

    • The Gold Coast New Student Grants is limited to the first 100 successful applications, being the first 100 Applicants who meet the Eligibility Criteria (“Quota”).   
    • Experience Gold Coast reserves the right to close applications when the Quota is exhausted, or at any time before the Quota is exhausted, for any other reason at the sole discretion of Experience Gold Coast with no advance notice. 

     

    How to Apply
     

    Overview of application process
     

    Applicants may apply for the Gold Coast New Student Grants via the following process:  

    • Lodge an application form online (at http://goldcoaststudentgrants.com) by completing all mandatory fields indicated in the form.  
    • Receive confirmation via email that the application has been received. The application must be received by Experience Gold Coast prior to the Closing Date to be considered. 
    • Successful Applicants will receive a conditional approval with information on next steps for verification of their application and eligibility for the Gold Coast New Student Grants. 
    • Attend the Gold Coast Student Hub in-person by the Verification Date, and provide copies of documents to verify eligibility for the Gold Coast New Student Grants including but not limited to: 
      • passport;  
      • a copy of Letter of Offer issued by an Experience Gold Coast Education Member Institution;  
      • Confirmation of Enrolment (“CoE”) at an Experience Gold Coast Education Member Institution;  
      • a copy of the Applicant’s student visa grant notification;  
      • evidence of arrival date on the Gold Coast (e.g. flight ticket); and 
      • nominated Australian bank account details.

    Additional documents or evidence relating to satisfaction of the Eligibility Criteria may be required at the discretion of Experience Gold Coast.  

    • Applicants who have successfully verified their applications and accepted the Gold Coast New Student Grants will be issued $1,000 deposited directly into their nominated Australian bank account. The nominated bank account’s name must match the beneficiary student's name to ensure financial compliance and prevent fraud. 
    • Applicants may withdraw their application at any time by emailing education@experiencegoldcoast.com.  

     

    Application Process Timing
     

    The Gold Coast New Student Grants application involves three key stages: 

    • Applications Open: 6 August 2025.  
    • Applications Processed: Commences 18 August 2025 – all Applicants are notified of the outcome of their application and next steps.  
    • Applications Verified / Claim Stage: Commences 18 August 2025 and concludes 30 April 2026 – successful Applicants must visit the Gold Coast Student Hub in person to claim the Gold Coast New Student Grants between the specified dates, but not later than the Verification Date.  
    • The Application will be open until the Quota is exhausted, or otherwise on 31 October 2025 (whichever is earlier) (“Closing Date”).
