Foundation Studies Program (Accelerated)

Our Foundation Studies Program Accelerated provides you with a pathway to follow your dreams of studying business, IT, engineering, medicine, nursing, and much more at university.


Why study this Program

  • For students studying at the College, once you achieve your required progression score, you are guaranteed entry to your packaged degree, and, for most bachelor’s degrees, you won’t need to provide any further English language evidence. 
  • We will ensure that you understand all the additional entry requirements for Medicine, Dentistry, Midwifery, Nursing, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy. 
  • The Foundation Studies Program is streamed, allowing you to choose elective courses that align with your chosen bachelor's degree. 
  • You will be issued with a packaged Confirmation of Enrolment for the entire duration of study at the College and the University. 
  • In addition to weekly class attendance, students are also expected to complete 20-25 hours per week of independent learning.

Upon successful completion of the Foundation Studies Program Accelerated, you will have guaranteed entry to Adelaide University.

Our Bachelor of Science majoring in Food Science and Technology teaches you to innovate and push the boundaries with food. It covers foundational chemistry and biology, with specialised courses in nutrition, microbiology, food science and technology.  

Hone your practical skills in purpose-built food laboratories, sensory booths, commercial kitchens and biomedical facilities.  

Experience the full production journey as you design, create and package food in line with industry standards. Get familiar with key technologies like pasteurisation, sterilisation and fermentation. Use sensory analysis to assess products, experimenting with different smells, textures and flavours.  

We deep-dive into future industry trends, ethical considerations and regulatory requirements – preparing you for the global shift towards more sustainable food production. You’ll gain real-world experience in the wider food industry, building professional connections and applying food science on the job.

Our Bachelor of Science majoring in Food Science and Technology covers foundational chemistry and biology, as well as more specific courses in nutrition, microbiology, food science and food technology.

    For most scholarships, you will be automatically assessed when applying for an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate degree, however some scholarships have additional application requirements, excluded programs and terms and conditions that must be met in order to be eligible. 

     

    Adelaide Academic Excellence Scholarship (50%)
    A prestigious scholarship rewarding international students commencing undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degrees. Recipients are offered a 50% tuition fee reduction, with limited places for those with a high distinction average.

    The Adelaide Academic Excellence Scholarship offers a 50% tuition fee reduction and is a prestigious, highly competitive award with limited places for students with a high distinction average.

    This scholarship recognises international students commencing undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degrees who have achieved outstanding academic performance in their previous studies.

     

    Eligibility criteria

    To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

    1. be an international student
    2. be applying to study a CRICOS registered bachelor degree (minimum 96 units / 2 years equivalent) after the application of any credit/RPL, or a CRICOS registered master degree (minimum 72 units / 1.5 years equivalent) after the application of any credit/RPL, at Adelaide University;
    3. satisfy one of the following in the qualification used as the basis of admission to the Adelaide University degree:
      • Undergraduate only: applicants with a minimum ATAR of 99 (or international equivalent).
      • Undergraduate and postgraduate: applicants with a minimum overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 6.7 (on a 7.0 scale) or comparable score.
    4. not be applying to study one of the Excluded Programs (see below);
    5. not be an Australia Awards recipient; and
    6. not be an International Sponsored Student entitled to a tuition fee waiver equal to or greater than the scholarship value, in which case the fee waiver amount will apply.

    Important information

    Minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) to maintain:

    The scholarship recipient must maintain a minimum Program Term GPA of 5.5 on a 7.0 scale  ("Minimum GPA") in academic progress carried out each compulsory Study Period to ensure the scholarship recipient continues to meet the conditions of the scholarship. The scholarship may be suspended if the recipient's GPA falls below the Minimum GPA. If a recipient's overall GPA falls below the Minimum GPA, the scholarship will not be applied to the next invoice. If a recipient's GPA returns to the Minimum GPA or above, the scholarship will recommence and will be applied to the next invoice. 

     

    How to apply 

    Scholarship applications for Semester 1 2026 are now open. To apply, complete the appropriate application form­ below and follow the provided instructions.

    Semester 1 2026 applications open 1 July 2025 and close 31 October 2025. Semester 2 2026 applications open 1 April 2026 and close 22 May 2026.

    Your application will be assessed by a selection panel and based on merit. Successful recipients will be notified prior to commencement at Adelaide University and the scholarship will be applied to your Offer of Admission.
