Students in the International Year One: Management and Organizational Studies program will complete three terms of studies at WesternIC and, upon successful completion, progress to their second year of the Bachelor of Management and Organizational Studies (BMOS) program.


Management and Organizational Studies programs equip students with core business skills and the flexibility to pursue broader educational interests to prepare them for a rapidly  changing global management environment. These programs offer a unique opportunity to combine a strong foundation in a core area of business education with a broader educational perspective from the Social Sciences and other disciplines.


Management and Organizational Studies (MOS) Program Options

Accountinge Consumer Behaviour Finance Human Resource Management Management and Legal Studies
Gain essential skills in financial reporting, auditing, and tax preparation, preparing you for a career as a CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant). 
Understand the psychological and social factors influencing consumer decisions, utilizing the latest in consumer analytics and marketing strategies. 

Develop expertise in financial analysis, investment strategies and risk management, leading to opportunities for a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation. 

Prepare for a career as a CHRP (Chartered Human Resource Professional) with courses in employee relations, organizational behaviour and strategic HR management. 

Explore the intersection of business and law with courses that cover corporate governance, business ethics and legal regulations.



Management and Organizational Studies Program Structure

During the International Year One: Management and Organization Studies program, you will study courses that introduce you to a wide range of disciplines. Below is a sample of the courses that you might take during the program:

Progression Requirements

To progress into the second year of the Bachelor of Management and Organizational Studies (BMOS) at Western University, with 10 one-term classes (5.0 courses) applied to your degree, you must successfully complete the International Year One: Management and Organizational Studies program and meet the following progression requirements:

  • A minimum overall cumulative average of 65%* 
  • Completion of 10 one-term classes (5.0 courses) in the WesternIC International Year One: Management and Organizational Studies program including specific prerequisites for your intended BMOS Specialization 

*Students who do not meet the 65% BMOS requirement but still achieve a minimum overall cumulative average of 60% will progress to the second year of studies in the Faculty of Social Science at Western University.

Each program of study will have specific course requirements for progression to year two modules.  WesternIC Student Success Advisors will support your course planning to ensure you are meeting prerequisites to progress to your intended program of study.
