The Educational Assistant program prepares students to work in educational and community settings. The program focuses on diversity and inclusion, training students to support children and youth with a variety of learning needs, and helping them to reach their potential.

What to expect from the program Graduate with Experience

By providing inclusive classroom learning and hands-on practicum experience, the program equips graduates with the knowledge, interpersonal, and practical skills to support students both one-on-one and in small group environments.

The program will train students to be an education assistant through inclusive classroom learning and hands-on practicum experience. Graduates will have the knowledge, interpersonal and practical skills to support students both one-on-one and in small group environments.

NorQuest College believes in the importance of on-the-job experience that provides an enriched learning opportunity.

You’ll graduate this program with 200 hours of work experience from a field experience and 45 hours from a practicum seminar.

Scholarships

New Questers International Entrance Scholarship

Established to reward academic excellence by international students graduating from international high schools and entering studies at NorQuest College. All students must meet certain eligibility criteria for the scholarship.


Value: $1000
Applicable programs: Open to all credit programs (full time students in any NorQuest credit programs can apply)

 The New Questers International Entrance Scholarship, valued at $1,000, available to eligible international students beginning their studies at NorQuest College in fall 2025 intake.

Eligibility Criteria:

  •     Must be an international student with a valid study permit.
  •     Enrolled full-time in a NorQuest College career program that requires an admission grade (please note post-diploma programs and those without admission grade requirements are not eligible).
  •     Must be in their first term of study.
  •     Hold an admission average of 70% (B  or 2.7 GPA) or higher (based on Alberta standards).


When will applications for the Entrance Scholarship open?

  • The application for the Fall 2025 Entrance Scholarship will open on August 25, 2025 and close on September 16, 2025.
  • The application for the Winter 2026 Entrance Scholarship will open on December 15, 2025 and close on January 23, 2026.
