This degree marries traditional scholarly learning that focuses on developing excellent subject knowledge, with strong practice led skills to help your career development. You will be taught by academics and industry experts that have researched, advised or consulted in the area of law both nationally and internationally. Our teaching and learning approach uses a combination of experiences including formal lectures, guest lectures, workshops that simulate court hearings, arbitral proceedings and negotiations for which you will play a key role to develop your academic knowledge and skills pertinent to law. Throughout the curriculum, you will be asked to prepare written proceedings and reports in addition to traditional essays and a major project. In this way you will build your confidence and develop key transferable skills such as strong communication skills, team work, leadership and time management. Embedded within the curriculum is a suite of University Challenge modules. These modules will provide you with the opportunity to explore themes relevant to industry, careers, enterprise and interdisciplinary topics, and prepare you for work in multidisciplinary teams. You will study alongside other postgraduate students from a range of subject areas and disciplines, enriching your learning and networking opportunities.
