Program Overview
Our combined Business and Management and Economics degree has been designed to give you an in-depth knowledge and understanding of business and economics, while developing practical and professional skills that you can apply to a wide range of industries and careers.
You’ll explore the economic concepts that shape our world, and learn to view current events through a different lens.
This business and economics course aims to incorporate modern approaches to the field of economics, amplifying the voices of those who have traditionally been excluded from economic decision-making based on race, gender or ethnicity. You’ll gain a contemporary perspective through a range of reading materials, videos and case studies.
You’ll develop your understanding of the nature of the global forces that influence contemporary decision making, and gain the skills to think critically, and research the world of business.
You’ll be encouraged to challenge your thinking, take new and innovative approaches to problem-solving, and apply your learning to real-world scenarios.
You’ll have the opportunity to join student-led research groups exploring a range of local, national and global issues, and optional modules in subjects such as leadership, marketing and law will enable you to tailor your studies to your particular areas of interest.
This economics and business management course gives you the opportunity to critically analyse the major challenges we face at local, national and global levels. You’ll examine the forces that shape decision making, including economics, politics, technology, alongside social, ethical and ecological issues.
You’ll gain a solid understanding of the main business and economics concepts, and optional modules will give you the opportunity to specialise.
Throughout your studies you’ll be encouraged to question and challenge both your own point of view and that of others.
Through individual and team research, debates and analyses, you’ll develop skills in communication, critical analysis, and problem-solving. As we’re an Adobe Creative Campus, you’ll have access to the Adobe Creative Suite, giving you access to industry-standard programmes as part of your studies.

Scholarships

If you are a high-achieving student from outside the UK and are entering undergraduate or postgraduate studies with us, you may benefit from the International Recruitment Office Scholarship.
The following scholarships are available:
- £5,000 off tuition fees for the first year of study (two scholarships available)
- £1,000 off tuition fees for the first year of study (20 scholarships available)
Criteria
This scholarship is for candidates who are joining Bath Spa University in September, entering either:
- A three-year undergraduate programme
- A one-year postgraduate programme

How applications are judged
The University Committee will review applications within one month of the application deadline. You will hear back from us following this review.
India Scholarship
Apply for up to £2,000 towards the cost of your first year fees in the 2026/27 academic year.
Bath Spa University works with a number of regional offices to support its work across the world, and number of scholarships are available to support applicants from India.
The following scholarships are available:
- £2,000 off tuition fees for the first year of study (10 scholarships available)
- £1,000 off tuition fees for the first year of study (20 scholarships available for the first 20 students who apply)
Criteria
The India Regional Office Scholarship is available to both undergraduate and postgraduate applicants.
- Postgraduate students must achieve at least 70% in their degree.
- Undergraduate students must achieve at least 70% overall in their 12th grade, for example, A-Levels.
Applicants must first apply for their programme of study direct to Bath Spa University through our official University representative in India, and be processed through Bath Spa University India.
Applicants can be from outside India, but must be processed through the regional office in India.
