Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC) - New Westminster Campus Overview

As BC's only post-secondary institute dedicated to public safety professions, JIBC delivers exceptional applied education, training and research to advance our vision of safer communities and a more just society.

Established in 1978 by a provincial Order-In-Council, JIBC was created specifically to meet BC’s training needs for the province’s justice and public safety systems, including police, corrections, court services, sheriffs, firefighters and paramedics. Over the years, JIBC has expanded its scope and has been recognized through government orders as the provider of education and training for family dispute resolution professionals, security guards, gaming security officers, bylaw officers, and community care licensing officers.

In support of our vision of safer communities and a more just society, we also offer leadership, conflict resolution, and trauma-informed counseling courses, equipping professionals with essential skills to navigate complex challenges and foster positive change.
