York St John University - York Campus Overview

York St John University, founded in 1841, is an open university that received university status in 2006. In 1841, it was known as the Diocesan College in York, and in 1974, it was renamed the College of Ripon and York St John. York School of Occupational Therapy was founded by the university in 1977. The university is amongst the greatest higher education institutions founded on religious grounds. The Privy Council confirmed the degree-awarding powers in 2005. Later, in 2006, the university's name was changed to York St John University. The institution works with impaired athletes and offers free creative courses to people who utilise mental health services.
